I have missed the last two weekends in Paris as I just got back from Prague last night and was in Verdun the proceeding weekend. As a result, I have missed the current demonstrations and protests. However, I shall be here next Tuesday, the 28, the announced day of a crippling general strike. As a result, the city will shut down...so if this blog is quiet the next ten days you will know why...

Those French sure do like to strike. I experienced two while I was there and saw one...is there a particular reason they're striking this time?
In response to the question above, the news I've heard is that the strike is over a new labor law.
